EXPLODING NEST Wallpaper, cotton batting, kraft paper, masking tape. The University of Chicago, 2006. This piece was created in response to the space underneath a staircase leading to a basement, which I saw as a place for bizarre and unnerving occurrances. I was exploring the limits of material excess within the confines of this small space and with only a select few materials. The resultant project was a somewhat disturbing display of human behaviors implied in the behaviors of the materials themselves. |
